A woman was injured Wednesday in a grass cutting accident in Nesquehoning that happened just after noon at the St. John’s the Baptist Orthodox church cemetery. The woman was operating a stand-up mower and got too close to a steep embankment.

The woman and the mower went over the embankment, traveling about 80 feet and landing just short of Route 209. She was treated at the scene by Lehighton paramedics before being transported to a nearby trauma center. Nesquehoning police are investigating.
