State police at Frackville

State police at the Frackville barracks have released information on recent incidents:

• Elissa Lugo, 31, of Wilkes-Barre, was charged with defiant trespass after police were called to the Walmart store, Plaza Drove, Hometown, at 8:45 p.m. Oct. 31.

Police said she was observed and identified inside the store, having been known because a prior incident there. Police said because of the prior incident, she had been served with a no-trespass order on Aug. 31.

• A driver and four passengers were uninjured when a 2010 Subaru Impreza struck a deer on Route 901 in Cass Township. Police said Joseph L. Hoffman III, 32, of Reading, was driving east when the incident happened. The vehicle needed to be towed from the scene, police said.

• Jean M. Riotto, 76, of Port Carbon, was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 3:08 p.m. Nov. 1 on Valley Street (Route 209) in New Philadelphia.

Police said she was transported by personnel from the Pottsville/Schuylkill Haven Area EMS corps to an area hospital.

Police said the crash happened when she was eastbound on Route 209 when her 2010 Subaru Forester left the lane of travel and struck a westbound 2010 Dodge Caliber driven by Hope A. McManus, 36, of Hazleton. Police said the Forester rolled over a number of times and came to rest on the south side of Route 209.

McManus had possible injuries but refused a medical transport, police said.

The vehicles were towed from the scene.

• Elijah H. Romano, 21, of Phoenixville, was uninjured when a 2022 Honda he was driving struck a deer at 7:27 a.m. Oct. 25 on Interstate 81 in Ryan Township.

Police said he was southbound when the deer entered the path of the vehicle, which sustained disabling damages and was towed from the scene.

• A 17-year-old Pottsville boy was cited after an incident at 8:03 p.m. Oct. 27 on Interstate 81 in Ryan Township. He was uninjured.

Police said he was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt southbound when he took his eyes off the road. The car traveled onto the left shoulder and struck a plastic road marker. Police said when the driver attempted to steer back onto the highway, the car spun clockwise for about 115 feet, crossing both lanes, before striking a guide rail. After that impact, it spun counterclockwise and went several tenths of a mile before becoming disabled on the right shoulder of the road.

• Jeremy M. Fleck, 36, of Weatherly, was cited after a crash at 6:44 p.m. Oct. 26 on East Blaine Street in McAdoo.

Police said he was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe that made a left turn without first having proper clearance in front of a 2009 Yamaha driven by Eric A. Diaz Rodriguez, 48, of McAdoo, who was eastbound on Blaine Street. Police said there was no impact between the Tahoe and cycle, but the operator of the cycle put it on its side to avoid a collision.

Police said Diaz Rodriguez had minor injuries and was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton, for an evaluation.

• Police said the driver of a 2023 Subaru Forester had to swerve and hit a guide rail, in an incident at 2:58 p.m. Oct. 29 on Interstate 81 in Delano Township.

They said the Forester was northbound when a dark-colored car attempted to merge in front of it. The unidentified operator of the Forester avoided the collision but his car had minor damages when it hit the railing, police said. It was driven from the scene.

• Police are investigating a theft that happened between 8:30 p.m. Oct. 20 and 9:30 a.m. Oct. 21 on West Center Street in West Mahanoy Township.

Police said the unidentified victim reported someone stole a 14k gold antique money clip worth $650 and $445 in cash from the victim’s residence.

• Police were called to a stolen vehicle report at 1600 Altamont Boulevard, West Mahanoy Township.

It happened between midnight July 1 and 11 a.m. Oct. 25 when someone stole a red and silver Honda from Hoffman’s Service Center, Frackville, police said.
