State Police at Frackville

State police at the Frackville barracks have reported on recent incidents. They include:

• Kylie Usalis, 27, of Lansford, was charged with retail theft (shoplifting) after police were called to the Walmart store, Plaza Drive, Rush Township (Hometown), at 1:47 p.m. Oct. 22.

Police said she was taken into custody without incident after failing to pay for various items valued collectively at $41.06. They included Kiss nails, jeans, a beanie, T-shirts and a cardigan sweater.

• James Zelinsky, 41, of Cumbola, was charged with assault-bodily injury after police were summoned to a domestic disturbance at 6:52 p.m. Oct. 22 at a property on Market Street in Blythe Township.

Police said the victim is a 37-year-old woman from Cumbola. They said the two got into an argument. Zelinsky threw a metal fork at the victim, striking her in the face. She had a cut on her upper lip. Police said Zelinsky was taken into custody without incident.

• Police said Thomas Ferhart, 35, of Cumbola, was reported missing at 6:22 p.m. Oct. 22. He was last seen at about 2 p.m. Oct. 19 in the 100 block of Water Street in Blythe Township.

Ferhart is described as being a white, non-Hispanic man with black and gray wavy hair, being about 6 feet tall and weighing about 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue and white flannel shirt, blue jeans and brown boots. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call police at 570-874-5300.

• Three people were hurt in a crash at 11:06 p.m. Oct. 21 at the intersection of Claremont and Mahanoy avenues in Hometown, Rush Township.

They include Frederick J. Ackers Jr., 34, of Freeland, and Leonard J. Alabovitz, 75, and Rose A. Alabovitz, 70, both of Tamaqua. Police said they had “suspected minor injuries” and were all transported to a local hospital by personnel from the Tamaqua Community Ambulance Association.

Police said the crash happened when Ackers, driving a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu northbound on Claremont Avenue, failed to stop at a steady red light and traveled into the intersection without making proper clearance, crashing into a 2016 Chevrolet Traverse operated by Leonard Alabovitz.

Police said both vehicles came to rest in the northbound lanes of Claremont Avenue and had to be towed from the scene.

• Jonas Pimentel Delgado, 23, of Lansford, was charged with retail theft (shoplifting) after state police at the Frackville barracks were called to the Walmart store, 35 Plaza Drive, Rush Township (Hometown).

Police said it is alleged Delgado was scanning items at a self-check kiosk when he bagged several unscanned items and placed them in his shopping cart. Police said he was taken into custody and transported to the state police barracks for processing.

Police said the items tallied $92.16.
