October 27, 1972 - Ed Hromyak excels on offense and defense to help Tamaqua post a 21-7 victory over Shenandoah Valley. Hromyak carries 11 times for 83 yards and two touchdowns, and also catches a pass for 36 yards. On defense, he is credited with 22 tackles - including seven solo. The team’s punter, he also finishes with an average of 39 yards on five punts. Hromyak scores his first TD on a 44-yard run one play after Brad Geiger intercepts a pass for the Blue Raiders. He adds a 6-yard tally in the second half. The winners, coached by Walt Ligenza, also receive a 21-yard scoring pass from Bill Milot to Jim Connely.
