Polk Township supervisors handled these items at Monday’s meeting:

• Nancy Wright, vice chairwoman of the Parks and Recreation Commission, thanked the supervisors for their help with set up and the fire company’s help with directing traffic during the recent Environmental Day event.

• Supervisors approved the 2023-2024 plowing agreement to hire someone from Bruce George Paving and Excavating at a $75/hour rate as a backup person to help the township when need.

• Effective Jan. 1, new short-term rentals will not be allowed in R1 zoning areas. Already existing short-term rentals will be allowed since they were there before the zoning was amended.

• Supervisors voted to start offering direct deposit payroll options. They also voted to start allowing credit card payments at the Solid Waste and Recycle Center. Cash and check payments will still be allowed. There will be a convenience fee associated with the credit card payments.
