Police: Man shot arrow at sons, then pointed gun

A Penn Forest Township man has been charged with shooting a bow and arrow, and pointing a gun, at family members.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by state police at Lehighton in the case against David Pieri:

Around 4:30 p.m. Aug. 13, a man called PSP Lehighton to report that Pieri’s two sons had arrived at his church and told him that their father, David Pieri, 67, shot a bow and arrow at them and pointed a gun at them.

Pieri’s sons said that they had argued with Pieri at their home along Jeans Drive at around 2 p.m.

During the argument, Pieri shot a bow and arrow in their direction twice.

Pieri then waved a small black gun in the air, before he pointed it in their direction.

Pieri’s sons went to Faith United Presbyterian Church to meet with their pastor, who then called PSP Lehighton.

Pieri faces charges on two counts each of terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another, harassment, aggravated assault; and recklessly endangering another person, along with one count of possession of firearm prohibited.

Pieri has been released on bail and scheduled to have a preliminary hearing Nov. 1 before District Judge Eric M. Schrantz of Jim Thorpe.
