State police respond to day care center

The Pennsylvania State Police Troop M Bethlehem Station responded to a day care center in North Whitehall Township, Lehigh County, for the reports of people inside the Day Care feeling sick.

On Wednesday at approximately 10:33 a.m., troopers were dispatched to the Lehigh Valley Children’s Center on Park Avenue for adults and children feeling sick. Eight juveniles (infants and toddlers) and five adults were transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest for headaches and dizziness.

The cause and manner of the reason why people became ill in the day care were unable to be determined. The day care will be closed for the remainder of the week while air quality specialists are brought in to determine the source.

In addition to Pennsylvania State Police, assisting at the scene: Northern Valley EMS, Neffs Fire Company, Northampton Regional EMS, Lehighton EMS, and Lehigh County Special Operations.
