Carbon County Court - guilty pleas

Carbon County Judge Joseph J. Matika accepted guilty pleas from the following people:

Andrew J. Tyahla Sr., 53, of Palmerton, was charged by Palmerton Police Officer Adam L. Shimer with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness on Sept. 10, 2022.

He pleaded guilty to the conduct charge; the drunkenness charge was dropped. Matika deferred sentencing to 10 a.m. Nov. 9.

In a separate case, Tyahla was charged by borough Police Officer Shawn A. Leadbetter with resisting arrest; defiant trespass; and disorderly conduct on Nov. 19, 2022.

He pleaded guilty to the trespass charge, and Matika deferred sentencing to 10 a.m. Nov. 9.

Adam Skonieczny, 40, of Weatherly, was charged by Weatherly Police Officer Michael C. Bogart with two counts of simple assault; recklessly endangering another person; and disorderly conduct on Feb. 23, 2022.

He pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct; the remaining charges were dropped. Matika ordered him to pay court costs, a $100 LiveScan fee, and fined him $150.

In a separate case, Skonieczny was charged by Weatherly Police Officer Ashley N. Harris with strangulation; simple assault; endangering the welfare of children; and disorderly conduct on Feb. 23, 2022.

He pleaded guilty to the conduct charge; the remaining charges were dropped. Matika ordered him to pay court costs, a $100 LiveScan fee, and fined him $150.

Steven L. Longenbach, 34, of Slatington, was charged by Lehighton State Trooper Alexander Z, Rankovich with illegally operating a vehicle without ignition interlock; possession of a controlled substance; using an improper class of license; driving an unregistered vehicle; driving without insurance; not wearing proper headgear while driving a motorcycle; no eye protection device; no rear lights; displaying a plate card in the improper vehicle; obscured plates; and possession of drug paraphernalia on May 30, 2023.

He admitted to the paraphernalia charge; the remaining charges were dropped. Matika ordered him to pay court costs; a $50 monthly supervision fee; serve one year on probation; undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation; and render 50 hours of community service.

Tiffany Ryan Keck, 42, of Summit Hill, was charged by Weatherly Police Officer Edward E. Kubert with fleeing an officer; speeding in a school zone; driving while her operating privileges were suspended or revoked; driving without a license; two counts of failing to obey a stop sign; careless driving; no headlights; no rear lights; and disorderly conduct on Sept. 14, 2022.

She admitted to disorderly conduct; the remaining charges were dropped. Matika ordered her to pay court costs; a $100 LiveScan fee; a $50 monthly supervision fee; serve one year on probation; and render 50 hours of community service.

Michael T. Everett, 48, of Lehighton, was charged by Franklin Township Police Officer Jared M. Green with driving while his license was suspended or revoked and failing to obey a stop sign on Nov. 17, 2022.

He admitted to the license charge; the stop sign charge was dropped. Matika ordered him to pay court costs; a $100 LiveScan fee; a $50 monthly supervision fee; serve six to 12 months in jail, with credit for 181 days already served; and render 25 hours of community service.
