Nesquehoning man, 47, faces drug, gun charges

A Nesquehoning man who is on state parole faces charges after he was found with a gun and drug paraphernalia.

Paul Peacock, 47, of South Allen Street, was arraigned Tuesday on charges of possession of a firearm prohibited and possession of drug paraphernalia, and jailed in the county prison in lieu of $10,000.

According to court papers, state parole officer contacted Nesquehoning police after finding an AR-15 gun in Peacock’s closet during a lawful search of his home.

Police seized the weapon, two magazines and a Smith and Wesson case. Peacock allowed officers to search his bedroom and they found an orange needle cap, empty baggies and a tourniquet, court papers said.

Peacock said the paraphernalia was from shooting methamphetamine, and additional four, A-15 magazines were found on the floor, court papers said.

State parole checked on him, because he was arrested the night before in Moore Township, court papers said.
