Entertainment around the area

Grace Potter, frontwoman of rock band Grace Potter and the Nocturnals from 2002 to 2015, ranks among the entertainment highlights set for local and regional venues.

The singer, whose hits include two collaborations with country act Kenny Chesney, will perform at Penn’s Peak. Potter’s cover of the 1970s folk-rock hit “Stuck in the Middle with You” served as the theme song of the Netflix comedy “Grace and Frankie.”

The Peak will also host a number of tribute shows, as will Mauch Chunk Opera House. The latter will also welcome comedian Tammy Pescatelli.

In the retro-film world, the Mahoning Drive-In Theater’s John Waters Filthy Film Fest will include a two-night appearance from the filmmaker himself.
