Fern Ridge state police - crashes

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported on the following incidents that officers responded to in recent weeks:

•No one was hurt in a two-vehicle crash at 8:06 p.m. Aug. 17 at the intersection of Weir Lake Road and Earl Drive in Chestnuthill Township. Police said a 1997 Toyota Corolla driven by Aerial Ortiz, 19, of Saylorsburg, traveling east from Kinsley Drive onto Weir Lake Road to travel north, turned in front of a 2022 Honda Accord operated by Matthew J. Tucker, 48, of Brodheadsville, causing the collision. The vehicles had minor damages, police said.

• Austin W. Brown, 26, of Easton, was cited for failure to drive at safe speed after a one-vehicle crash at 11:31 a.m. Aug. 20, on Neola Road in Jackson Township. He was uninjured. Police said he was driving a 2008 Lexus when he was negotiating a downhill right curve in the roadway. He lost control of the car, went off the road and hit an embankment. The car had heavy disabling damages.

• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 6:44 p.m. Sept, 6 on Interstate 80 in Tunkhannock Township. Police said the vehicles involved were a 2019 Western Star driven by Timothy J. Savage, 38, of Brodheadsville, and a 2023 Mazda operated by Grayson D. Stevens, 25, of Raleigh, North Carolina. Police did not provide details of the incident.
