State police at Bethlehem

State police at the Bethlehem barracks have reported on a number of incidents that officers were summoned to in recent weeks. They include:

• Garrett Frantz, 34, of Slatington, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He was stopped for multiple Title 75 violations at 1:28 a.m. July 24 in the 1400 block of MacArthur Road in Whitehall while driving a 2018 Subaru Legacy.

• A 38-year-old Lehighton man was arrested for harassment by physical contact after an incident at 6:58 p.m. July 24 on Route 145 in North Whitehall Township. Police said the victim is a 37-year-old woman from Laurys Station, who the man pushed and struck.

•Police said about $500 worth of damage was caused to an alfalfa field when someone drove a vehicle through it on Aug. 17. The owner is a 64-year-old man fr om Slatington, who declined to have police execute prosecution in the case.

• Police said the tires on a 2012 Volkswagen Tiguan and 2015 Mitsubishi were slashed in a criminal mischief incident that was reported to them at 7:42 a.m. Aug. 17. Two women, ages 34 and 32, both from New Tripoli, reported they observed the damage when they left their residence along Knoll Court in Heidelberg Township that morning. The damages are estimated at $888.

• Timothy Warner, 32, of Stroudsburg, was charged with harassment by physical contact after police responded to an incident at 8 p.m. July 15 at 8281 Route 873 in Washington Township. Police said the victim is the new boyfriend of Warner’s ex-girlfriend. Police said Warner struck him several times in the face.

• A 42-year-old man and 39-year-old woman are the victims of a theft altering incident that police were called to at 3:35 p.m. Aug. 3 at 3318 Route 309, North Whitehall Township. Police said someone “washed” a check from the victims, changing it from $50 to $500 and having the latter amount deposited via mobile application. Police said the victims have been refunded the amount by the New Tripoli Bank.

• A 67-year-old Slatington woman is the victim is a theft by deception case. Police said they were called at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 8 to a property on Harlor Court, Washington Township. The woman said someone used her bank card information to make two separate purchases on July 31 and Aug. 2 for a total of $208.36. Police said the victim has been advised by her bank that her card would be canceled and she will be reimbursed for the money taken from her account.

• A 33-year-old West Chester man was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after an accident at midnight Aug. 20 at 9677 Ashfield Road in Washington Township. Police said he crashed his 2011 Hyundai Sonata, was uninjured and was taken into custody without incident

• Police were called to an abandoned vehicle incident at 9:05 a.m. Aug. 24 at 8832 Route 873, Washington Township. Police said it was reported 2021 Ram trucks were changed from “models” to “line makes” under the Chrysler Group.

• Tristan Kline, 38, of Orefield, was charged with defiant trespass after police were called at 12:27 a.m. Aug. 14 to a property on the 4000 block of Grey Wolf Lane, North Whitehall Township. Police said he was evicted from the residence on May 9 and continues to live in the trailer home on the property after forcing his way into it. Police said although the trailer home is in Kline’s name his privileges of living there had been revoked.

• A 61-year-old Slatington woman is a victim of a theft by deception incident. Police were called at 7:51 a.m. Aug. 16 to 109 W. Main St., Bath, where she reported she used her debit card at the Sunoco Gas Station, charging $17.51. The card then had an unauthorized charge of $53.17 on the card. Police said the victim’s bank, Greendot, reimbursed her since the unauthorized charge was an internal issue with the bank.
