Three injured in Towamensing crash

Three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash at 10:54 a.m. Sept. 2 at the intersection of Pohopoco Drive and Koch Road in Towamensing Township.

Taken to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township, were Karen M. Temples, 60, and Kristopher K. White, 24, both of Kunkletown, and Kayla P. Parsons, 25, of Lehighton. The Lehighton and Palmerton ambulances made the transports.

Police said the crash occurred when Robert J. Ferraro Sr., 81, of Kunkletown, driving a 2011 Ford F-150 pickup, was at a posted stop sign and failed to clear the intersection, proceeding south on Koch Road Drive and striking a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country mini-van operated west on Pohopoco Drive by Temples.

Police said the pickup had minor damages while the mini-van sustained disabling damages.

Ferraro was cited for the incident.
