Habitat benefit

The 26th annual MC Habitat for Humanity annual golf tournament will be held at Great Bear Golf Club on Sept. 27. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 1 p.m.

Registration is due by Sept. 20. For entry or other information call Habitat at 570-216-4390. Sponsorships are available.

Eldred cleanup

Eldred Township will be having its Fall Clean-Up from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 29 and from 8 a.m. to noon, Sept. 30.

The event is free (except tires) to all township residents. They can bring all the things not suitable for disposal in regular trash, including mattresses, old lawn furniture, gas grills etc.

The township does recycle metals so residents are asked to keep those things separate. Tires can be brought for a fee of: including car tires, truck tires and for large truck (tractor-trailer etc.) tires.
