August 30, 1976 - Lansford’s Bob Polinsky pitches two scoreless innings to earn the win in a Syracuse Chiefs comeback victory over the Toledo Mud Hens. Polinsky enters the game in the ninth inning with the Chiefs - the Triple-A farm team of the New York Yankees - trailing 5-1. After tossing a 1-2-3 inning, Syracuse rallies for four runs to send the game into extra innings. Polinsky returns to the mound in the 10th and the Panther Valley graduate allows no runs on one hit. The Chiefs push across a run in the home 10th to give him the victory. Polinsky finishes the season 4-8 with a 3.29 ERA and 13 saves.
