Man dies in NE extension crash

A Prospect Park man died in a one-vehicle crash at 2:06 a.m. Aug. 13 on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

State police at the King of Prussia barracks said it happened in the area of mile marker 48.9 in Upper Milford Township, Lehigh County.

Chad E. Condon Sr., 48, the driver of the vehicle, died at the scene. A passenger, William L. Dorell Jr., 49, of Folsom, had serious injuries and was transported by personnel from the Upper Perkiomen Valley Ambulance Association to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest.

Police said Condon was driving a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee northbound when it began to travel in a northwest direction, causing the left front of the Jeep to hit the center concrete barrier. After continuing a short distance, the Jeep traveled northwest again with its left front striking the barrier a second time.

The Jeep crossed the northbound lanes, went onto the right shoulder and struck a guide rail.
