Monroe County incidents
State police at Stroudsburg made the following reports.
• A 27-year-old Saylorsburg woman was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after a traffic stop at 2:22 a.m. July 22 at the intersection of West Main and Beers streets in Stroudsburg.
• Police arrested a 41-year-old woman from Stroudsburg with theft by deception after they were called at 1:34 p.m. July 19 to a property on Manor Drive in Hamilton Township.
A 79-year-old woman from Stroudsburg said the woman stole her credit card and made $828.26 worth of purchases using it at Kohl’s and Sephora stores.
• Police said a 51-year-old Stroudsburg woman is the victim of a harassment incident that they responded to at 10:11 p.m. July 11. They said the woman reported receiving harassing text messages.
• An 18-year-old East Stroudsburg woman is the victim of an unwanted sexual conduct incident that police said was reported to them.
Police said the woman said the sexual assault took place without her consent between 9 a.m. Sept. 2 and 8:30 a.m. Sept. 2, 2022.
• Police said a 72-year-old man from Stroudsburg is the victim of a criminal mischief incident. Police were called to a property on Route 209 in Hamilton Township at 5:10 p.m. July 17.
Someone vandalized the victim’s property by writing on a sign, shed, dumpster and camera with a marker.
• Police said a suspect was charged for making false statements on a gun purchase form at The Gun Place LLC, 2730 Rimrock Drive, Hamilton Township. The suspect made false statements about his criminal history that resulted in denial of the purchase after the business checked with the Pennsylvania Instant Check System. The attempt was made at 4:46 p.m. Feb. 9, 2022, police said.
• Police are investigating a theft of lost or mislaid property incident involving a Saylorsburg woman.
They were called at 10:17 a.m. July 17 to a property at 2730 Rimrock Drive, Hamilton Township, where Ashlea Bartlett, 33, told them she sent her license plate to PennDOT in August 2014. She said on June 28 of this year, the plate went through a toll in Virginia and she was billed $3.60.
Police said the plate was entered into the national system as being stolen.
