A Lansford man faces felony indecent assault charges involving a child under 13 years of age.

John Thorpe, 28, was arraigned Thursday on charges of aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault person less than 13 and corruption of minors, all felonies, and indecent exposure, a misdemeanor.

District Judge Casimir Kosciolek set bail at $100,000 unsecured.

According to court papers, the incidents occurred at two residences in Lansford while the girl was between 5 and 7 years old.

The girl described several incidents with Thorpe between 2020 and 2022, which began with him exposing himself to the child and then he began touching her while he was watching her, court papers said.
