Bucks Co. school removes volunteer coach

A Lehighton teacher, who also served as a Bucks County volunteer football coach, was removed from his duties, Pennridge School District officials decided.

In a statement Monday, Pennridge administrators said that when the district was made aware of the arrest and investigation, Michael James Feifel, 55, of Walnutport, “was immediately relieved of all volunteer coaching responsibilities and any contact with children in the Pennridge School District.”

Feifel has been charged by Lehigh County Detectives of unlawful contact with a minor involving prostitution and criminal use of a communication facility. He was taken into custody on June 29 after he answered a sex website ad and agreed to meet with an underage girl in Lehigh County.

In addition to Pennridge and Lehighton, Feifel also volunteered in several districts, as well as was employed as the Times News as a part-time sports writer and photographer.
