State police reported the following incidents of the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike:

• Two drivers were uninjured in separate crashes on June 23. The first one happened at 6:25 p.m. at mile marker 96.6 while the second took place three minutes later at mile marker 96.7, both in Kidder Township.

Sara J. Brodbrecht, 23, of Jamison, was driving a 2017 Infiniti northbound when it struck a piece of metal in the roadway.

Then George Gibson, 55, of Wilkes-Barre, was driving a 2018 Mercedes-Benz when it struck the piece of metal, traveled off the roadway and struck an embankment.

Police said a passenger in the Infiniti was also uninjured.

• Three people were transported to the hospital after a two-vehicle mishap at 5:30 p.m. June 27 on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

It happened at mile marker 72.2 in East Penn Township.

Police said Haley A. Katona, 22, of Lakeville, Jordan N. Daniel, 22, of Saylorsburg, and Shirley Williams, 67, of Pottstown, were transported to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, by personnel from the Lehighton and Palmerton ambulance corps.

Police said the crash occurred when Katona, driving a 2005 Honda Civic, failed to slow down for traffic in front of her. Police said the Civic struck the rear of a 2018 Volkswagen Passat operated by Williams. Police said the Civic sustained disabling damages while the Passat had moderate damages.

Katona was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed, police said.

Daniel was a passenger in the Civic.
