Weatherly Area School Board approved the following personnel items:

• The retirement of maintenance director William Moyer, effective Aug. 4, and the resignation of Amanda Derr, Elementary/Middle School Music teacher effective at the end of this school year.

• Judith Kunkle, full-time paraprofessional, was approved to fill the full-time administrative assistant to the Superintendent position effective June 7 at a salary of $45,000 prorated plus benefits.

• Helene Baur, part-time cafeteria aide, was approved to fill the head cook vacancy, at an hourly rate of $13.75, and Kristin Walton, part-time cafeteria employee, was approved to move to full-time cleaning aide effective June 7, at an hourly rate of $13.21 plus benefits.

• The Slusser Law Firm will be the collector of delinquent real estate taxes again this tax year.

• The board’s patience with Umbriac Trucking and Old Republic bid bonds has reached an end regarding incomplete construction work from 2021. A lawsuit was filed.

• Head boys basketball coach Corey Gerhart has resigned. The District posted notice of the vacancy, and is now interviewing four applicants for the position.

• EHD of Lancaster was approved to remain broker for insurances to the District. CPAs Jones & Company will continue to perform the annual audit of the District’s records and perform annual audits of the tax collectors.
