State police at Schuylkill Haven - crashes

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks released information on area crashes:

• Police investigated a two-vehicle crash at 8:31 a.m. June 13 on Route 61 in West Brunswick Township.

Police said the driver of a 2014 Ford Taurus failed to yield to a Harley-Davidson motorcycle while attempting to enter Route 61 from Sculps Hill Road. Police said the cycle struck the driver’s side of the Taurus.

Police did not identify the drivers or detail injuries.

• Raymond D. Law Jr., 56, of New Ringgold, was injured when a tractor trailer he was operating was involved in a crash at 10:35 a.m. May 21 on Route 61 in West Brunswick Township.

Police said he was transported by Auburn Fire Company Ambulance Service personnel to the Geisinger-St. Luke’s Hospital, Orwigsburg. Police said the extent of his injuries is unknown.

Police said he was operating a 2023 Freightliner that failed to negotiate a left turn as the weight of its training unit caused it to overturn. While overturning, the trailer struck a guide rail off the right shoulder of the road.

The truck was towed from the scene. Police said Law was cited for the incident.

• Jennifer T. Pothering, 31, of Orwigsburg, was cited by after a three-vehicle crash at 5:31 p.m. June 12 at the intersection of Route 61 and Market Street in West Brunswick Township.

Police said she was driving a 2012 Hyundai Elantra that failed to stop for a steady red light and attempted to cross Route 61. The car was struck by a 2016 Honda Civic driven by Penelope L. Valentine, 60, of Orwigsburg. Police said the Elantra continued and struck a stopped tow truck whose driver was Milton D. Luckenbill Jr., 48, of Auburn.

The Elantra and Civic had disabling damages while the tow truck, a 2002 International Coach, sustained functional damages to its front-end.

Police said Valentine had possible injuries but was not transported to an area medical facility. No one was injured.
