Weissport man faces assault, threat charges

A Weissport man faces criminal charges after threatening to shoot a woman at his home earlier this month.

Miguel A. Carrillo Sr., 52, of White Street, was arraigned on charges of terroristic threats and simple assault, and released on $2,500 unsecured bail.

A preliminary hearing on the charges is scheduled June 28 before District Judge Eric M. Schrantz.

According to court papers, the woman’s son confronted Carrillo, who then threatened to shoot the woman if she and her son didn’t leave.

They left, but the woman returned later to retrieve items and Carrillo threatened to shoot her if she didn’t leave, court papers said.

The woman called 911 to report the incident, saying she didn’t know if Carrillo had any weapons but that he becomes crazy when he uses meth, court papers said.

State police detained Carrillo and searched him for weapons, court papers said, and Carrillo told troopers that he didn’t own any guns, and denied the incident.

The alleged incident happened June 4 between 9 and 10 p.m.
