June 17, 1970 - A big game from Charlie Hansler allows Lehighton to earn an 8-3 Lehigh Valley Legion comeback victory over Palmerton. Hansler gains the pitching win, scattering 10 hits and allowing three runs over nine innings. With Lehighton trailing 3-0, Hansler delivers a two-run single during a four-run seventh inning. He then slugs a three-run homer in the eighth to give the winners some insurance. Bob Zellner contributes two hits and a pair of runs, while Bob Ziegenfuss chips in with a pair of hits. For Palmerton, Darryl and Gene Roberts both hit home runs.
