Toolshed Jack

The Walk In Art Center will begin the summer with a party with area favorite, Toolshed Jack and a mix of up-tempo party rock and pop tunes from all eras. The event takes place at 7 p.m. on June 23.

The group rocks out with guitars, keyboards, horns, and percussion in a high-energy show that will have people on their feet or dancing in their seat.

Summer Art Celebration

Kids and families are invited to the Walk In Art Center on the first day of Summer for a fun art and craft day. The event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 21. Tickets for the event are $5 per child.

Area day cares and summer recreation programs are welcome to attend. Please contact the WIAC at 570-732-3728 to register large groups and get a visiting time.

It should take about an hour for kids to do all the activities so people can arrive anytime between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Activities include a splatter paint tent, bubble art, sand art, T-shirt painting, chalk art, paper plane creations, and sea creature art.

Enter the Walk In Art Center’s inner courtyard via West Market Street to get to all the fun. “The S.O.S. Art Celebration” is sponsored by Ameriprise Financial and the PA Council on the Arts.

Wine, Walk & Wander Street Fair

The streets of Downtown Schuylkill Haven will be alive from 5-8 p.m. June 21 for the annual “Wine, Walk, & Wander” Street Fair.

Main Street from the Little Dipper Ice Cream Shoppe & Brushstrokes down to and including the first grassy area of Parkway will be filled with five wineries, artists and craft vendors, food trucks, and multiple live musicians. Several downtown businesses will be open and bringing their wares on the sidewalk.

Mainstreet Moonshine will have musicians and vendors on their lot as well and the Cressona Band will hold a free concert on the corner of Dock & Main Streets. Traveling Curbside Grill and Big Foot Fries will have food along with the Uptown Tavern and Downtown Tavern. Visit GSHABA’s Facebook page for a list of participating vendors.

Wineries doing tastings are Stone Mountain Winery, Fieldwood Winery, Red Shale Winery, Bouchette Winery, & King Cole Winery.

A rain date for Wine, Walk & Wander is June 22 and the event is sponsored by the Greater Schuylkill Haven Area Business Association.
