Chestnuthill supervisors move ahead with facility plans

Progress is being made on the Shared Emergency Management Facility.

At the Chestnuthill Township supervisors Wednesday meeting, the supervisors made a motion to approve architectural special inspections for the masonry, steel, soil conditions, concrete and fabricated deep foundations.

MKSD Architects in Allentown is the firm that drew up the requirements for the Shared Emergency Facility and will make sure that Geo Technology Associates Inc., the company that was awarded the bid, will comply with the materials for the first stage of the Shared Emergency Facility. Geo Technology Associates Inc. came in with the lowest bid at $56,065.

Old business

• A motion was made and passed for the authorization of the release of the fourth payment of the Bush Lane culvert project in the amount of $151,870.

• The supervisors also authorized the Frable Road storm water conveyance release of the second payment of 10,886.

• The Planning and Zoning Board requested an hourly rate adjustment for the new part-time Planning and Zoning Board assistant Erin Hayes.

The supervisors made a motion to approve the hourly rate adjustment because the agreement was after a 60-day review period, the supervisors said they would consider increasing the rate if she was performing the duties successfully and appropriately. Hayes did pass her 60-day review and the recommendation from the supervisors was to adjust her hourly rate to $23.

New business

• The supervisors approved Cathy Martinelli, Chestnuthill secretary and treasurer, to attend the PAMA Conference in State College on July 30 through Aug. 2.

• The next supervisors meeting is at 7 p.m. June 20. The next meeting after that is canceled because it falls on the Fourth of July.
