With glasses of red wine held high, the members of the Last Man’s Club of World War II, American Legion Post 123, Lansford, saluted John Riebe, the last survivor of the WWI club who died on May 23, and Edwin Fritz of the WWII club, who passed away on Dec. 5.

Joseph Olexy led the toast to the department comrades, saying, “A toast to you, our noble dead. The path you’ve trod, we too shall tread. The torch you tossed us, we’ve caught, and we shall keep the faith with you who lie asleep.”

The glasses were broken by President George Brimmer.
