Franklin Township police log

Franklin Township Police Department conducted the following investigations during the span of the Memorial Day holiday weekend.

• At 11:33 a.m. May 26, a two-vehicle non-reportable crash occurred on Interchange Road (Route 209). As motorists were attempting to avoid an uninvolved disabled vehicle, a vehicle combination towing a pull-behind trailer collided with another vehicle while changing lanes without proper clearance.

• At 10:55 p.m. May 28, a victim reported being assaulted by a known suspect, receiving injury that required hospitalization. A 67-year-old New Jersey man has been identified as a suspect.

• At 10:10 a.m. May 29, a non-traffic related vehicle accident was reported adjacent to Long Run Road. Based upon the investigation, an antique vehicle was being moved from a private garage along Laurel Lane when a mechanical failure occurred, causing the vehicle to roll uncontrollably down the hill, coming to final rest against a telephone pole. No injuries were sustained.

• At 1:08 p.m. May 29, a non-reportable two-vehicle crash was reported on Interchange Road (Route 209). Upon investigation of the accident, a 56-year-old Center Valley man was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending the result of toxicology tests.

• At 4:07 p.m. May 29, multiple reports of an erratic driver traveling on Interchange Road (Route 209) were received. The vehicle was located after an additional non-reportable accident. As a result of the investigation, a 66-year-old Weissport woman was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending the result of toxicology tests.
