State police at Bethlehem — crashes

State police at Bethlehem report on the following crashes:

• Steven M. Geiger, 47, of New Tripoli, was cited for careless driving following a two-vehicle crash at 5:50 p.m. May 4 at the intersection of routes 309 and 100 in Heidelberg Township.

Police said he was driving a 2003 Subaru Outback southbound when he failed to maintain its lane of travel. The car went through the intersection and into the oncoming lane of travel, striking a 2013 Dodge Ram 2500 driven by Kelly D. Ebert, 62, of New Tripoli, that was stopped in the left lane. Police said the Ram truck was hauling an empty horse trailer.

Police said Geiger had minor injuries but refused treatment at the scene. Ebert was uninjured.

• Kelly M. Paulhus, 45, of Germansville, was cited after a two-vehicle crash at 9:22 p.m. April 28 on Route 309 in Heidelberg Township.

Police said she was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Prism northbound when it went into the oncoming lane and struck a 2016 Ford F-150 driven southbound by Derek R. Yeakel, 59, of Andreas.

The drivers were not injured, police said.

• Two people were injured in a crash at 11:12 p.m. May 2 at the intersection of Oakwood Lane and Washington Street in North Whitehall Township.

State police said Jacob W. Duch, 24, of Walnutport, and Rebekah A. Wise, 43, of Germansville, had minor injuries.

The crash occurred when Duch, driving a Chevrolet Cobalt, north on Oakwood Lane, failed to stop for a stop sign, striking a Honda Odyssey operated by Wise.

Duch was cited for a stop or yield sign violation.

• Lance W. Brill, 37, of Perkiomenville, was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 8:05 a.m. April 30 on Route 873 in Washington Township.

He was treated by personnel from the Cetronia Ambulance Corps but not transported to a medical facility.

Police said he was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox southbound when he swerved to avoid striking a deer, went off the road and struck a utility pole and row of hedges.

Police said Brill was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed.

• Two vehicles had minor damage in a crash at 5:26 p.m. April 17 at the intersection of Route 873 and Mountain Road in Washington Township.

Police did not identify the drivers but said a 2016 Jeep Wrangler and a 2016 Hyundai Sante Fe were involved.

• A crash occurred at 8:52 a.m. May 15 on Old Post Road in North Whitehall Township.

Police said no one was injured when a 2009 Honda Civic driven by Paul Martinez, 19, of Slatington, and a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado operated by Christopher J. Ford, 40, of Kunkletown crashed.

Police did not provide the details but said Martinez was cited for following too closely.
