The Carbon Monarchs and Northern Valley both posted victories in Lehigh Valley Legion action Wednesday.

A big sixth inning helped Northern Valley post a 12-8 victory over Southern Lehigh in Lehigh Valley Legion action.

Northern Valley (2-0) pushed across seven runs in the top of the sixth inning to snap a 5-5 tie. Evan Druckenmiller and Robert Croneberger each had a hit, two RBIs and a run scored for the winners.

Michael O’Neil had three hits with an RBI and two runs scored for Southern Lehigh (0-2), which held a 12-5 advantage in hits but made five errors. Jack Massey (double, three RBIs, two runs scored), Ben Burgos (double, RBI, run scored) and Hayden Hess (RBI) each had two hits in the loss.

Carbon-Salisbury

Carter Birnbaum’s big day highlighted the Carbon Monarchs’ 12-2 Lehigh Valley Legion five-inning win over Salisbury.

Birnbaum finished with a double among his three hits, five RBIs and a run scored for the Monarchs (1-0). Birnbaum also pitched four innings in relief, striking out six without allowing a hit, and surrendering just one walk to earn the win. Garrett Lienhard had a hit with two RBIs and a pair of runs scored, while Jack Edwards added a double and two RBIs.

Austin Spisszak had a hit and two RBIs for Salisbury (1-1), which led 2-1 after the first inning.

Easton pulled away from Berlinsville to record an 11-4 win in Blue Mountain League play.

Justin Ramirez (double, three RBIs, two runs scored), Jack Gensemer (double, walk, stolen base) and Nick Stannard (RBI, run scored) each had two hits for the Falcons (3-2).

JD Barrett (double, RBI), Rommel Perez (triple, run scored) and Shane Fillman all had a pair of hits for the Braves (1-4), who led 2-0 after two innings.
