Volunteers of the Diamond Fire Company, Walnutport, have purchased a van for the regional paramedic squad Paramedic 75 that serves the northern part of Lehigh County and the western part of Northampton County.

The department paid in excess of $18,000 for the ambulance-type vehicle.

Paramedic 75 works with ambulance corps from Allen Township, Lehigh Township, Northampton, Slatington, North Whitehall Township, Slatedale and Northwestern.

The paramedics don’t replace local ambulance service, rather they supplement it.
