A Barnesville man died in a fishing incident Saturday at the Locust Valley Fish and Game Club, 400 Back Road, Ryan Township.
State police at Frackville identified the man as Arthur Heckman, 72.
Police said they were called to club at 5:35 p.m. for a report of a man and an all-terrain vehicle in a fishing pond behind the complex. Police said Heckman and the ATV were removed from the water with the assistance of the Ryan Township Public Safety Dive Team. He was pronounced dead at the scene by a member of the Schuylkill County Coroner’s Office.
Police said Heckman was fishing at the pond and entered the water with his ATV.
