Tamaqua man charged with assaulting father

A Tamaqua man was sent to the Schuylkill County Prison after borough police charged him with assaulting his father on May 23, borough police said.

Police said they were called to a domestic incident at 10:40 a.m. and spoke to a man, who said his son, Terrence Love, 59, asked him for $200. When the man refused, Love grabbed him by his face.

Police said the father was bleeding from his nose and right cheek.

Love was arraigned before Tamaqua Magisterial District Judge Stephen Bayer on charges of simple assault and harassment. He was unable to post $500 bail.
