May 26, 1982 - Marian scores all its runs in the sixth inning to gain a 5-4 victory over Hazleton and clinch the Hughie McGeehan League championship. Jim Carrigan singles home the first run for the Colts, who trail 3-0 entering the sixth. An error allows the second Marian tally to cross, while the final runs come in on a three-run homer off the bat of Don Featherstone. Mike Kmetz tosses all seven innings for the winners, coached by Charlie Connely, scattering nine hits while striking out 10. The Colts also receive a hit and a run from John Patton.
