Monroe County crashes

State police at Stroudsburg report on the following:

• Oleksandr Maydanskyy, 30, of West Babylon, New York, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol following a one-vehicle crash at 10:25 p.m. April 20 on Route 33 in Hamilton Township.

Police said he was driving a 2023 BMW northbound when it veered off the roadway and past the median, traveling onto the median where it struck a guide rail. The car turned 180 degrees and came to rest within the median with the driver’s side resting against the guide rail.

Police said Maydanskyy had minor injuries.

• Catherine A. Rusnic, 19, of Easton, was cited for following too closely after a crash at 6:07 a.m. May 2 on Route 33 in Ross Township.

Police said she was driving a 2020 Ford Explorer northbound when it struck the rear of a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado operated by Shawn R. Carl, 32, of Walnutport, after he slowed down due to traffic ahead of him.

No one was injured.

• Seven J. Ujfalussy, 73, of Effort, escaped injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 2:24 p.m. April 23 on Route 209 in Hamilton Township.

Police said he was driving a 2017 Toyota Corolla that failed to negotiate a turn from Route 209 to Rachel Road. The car went off the road and struck an embankment.

The car had disabling damages, police said.
