Opening ceremonies for the Anthracite Little League occurred recently at the Lansford field. Police officers from the four towns that comprise the Panther Valley - Coaldale, Lansford, Nesquehoning and Summit Hill - tossed out the ceremonial first ball while the Little League and Softball League players stood behind them.
