Local roundup: Results from May 1

The Northern Lehigh softball and Northwestern boys lacrosse teams both recorded wins on Monday.

SOFTBALL

Salisbury-No. Lehigh

Kaitlyn Stock’s big day at the plate highlighted Northern Lehigh’s 17-6 Colonial League win over Salisbury.

Stock, who went 4-for-4, recorded a double in the first, singled twice in the third and added her fourth single in the fourth inning. She also added a run scored and finished with six RBIs.

Hayley Fenstermaker (two singles, three runs scored), Peyton Hoffman (two doubles, two runs scored, four RBIs), Jordyn Hemingway (two singles, four runs scored, two walks), Cadence Peters (single, double, two runs scored, two RBIs) and Kylee Snyder (single, double, run scored, RBI, walk) all had multiple hits for the Bulldogs, who improved to 10-6 overall and 7-6 in the league.

Riley Knecht paced the Falcons (1-15; 0-13) with two singles and a run scored.

PM East-Pleasant Vy.

Pocono Mountain East blasted five home runs en route to a 15-1 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference win over Pleasant Valley.

Mikenna Price and Ashley Carlson opened the scoring for the Cardinals (8-9; 7-7 EPC) in the first inning with back-to-back homers. Alexa Delgiudice, Carlson and Karlee Jurasits all connected in the top of the fifth inning, as Delgiudice and Jurasits hit solo homers, while Carlson belted a two-run shot.

Sam Ratti paced the Bears (9-8; 9-5) with two singles.

A four-run fifth inning helped Pocono Mountain East come away with an 8-2 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference win over Pleasant Valley.

Jayden Martinez led the way for the Cardinals (11-6; 8-6) with two doubles, two runs scored and two RBIs. Gavin Sopko (single, triple, two runs scored) and Bobby Ehrman (single, double, run scored, RBI) also added multiple hits in the win.

Dakota Lucas paced the Bears (10-7 overall; 8-5 EPC) with a single, double, run scored and an RBI. Nathan Loch added a single and scored a run.

Salisbury utilized the long ball to come out on top with a 7-3 Colonial League victory over Northern Lehigh.

In a game that was cut short due to the weather, the Falcons (8-8 overall; 8-5 CL) took an early lead over the Bulldogs (3-14; 3-11) on a two-run home run by Matt Nunez. Andrew Grejda adding an insurance run with a solo home run in the fifth inning.

Brayden Buskirk recorded a fielder’s choice RBI in the first inning to score Nick Buskirk for the Bulldogs’ first run. Chris Vargas stole home in the third inning, and Jack Tosh capped the Bulldogs’ scoring with an RBI-single, which scored Nick Buskirk.

BOYS LACROSSE

Moravian--N’western

Austin Sosnovik and Blaine Snyder each scored twice and Northwestern recorded a 7-5 win over Moravian Academy.

Sosnovik and Snyder both had assists for the Tigers, who improved to 9-5 and won their second straight. Cade Christopher, Cody Hallock and Devon Hildebrand also scored in the win, while Stone Sosnovik recorded an assist and Bailen Smargiassi made 18 saves.

Chris Fanning scored twice for the Lions (4-7).
