April 29, 1987 - Jim Thorpe gains a true “walk-off” win as the Olympians score two seventh-inning runs to defeat Schuylkill League foe Freeland by a 5-4 score. Trailing by a run, bases-loaded walks to Dave Rimsky and Chris Bott allow Thorpe to pull out the victory. Bott finishes the contest with two hits, one a double, while Dennis Bincarosky also collects a pair of hits. The Olympians, coached by Dave Malkin, also receive a solo homer from Pat Large and an RBI single from Craig Armbruster. John Searfoss earns the win, allowing just five hits in his complete-game effort.
