Workshops shared

Western Pocono Community Library introduces 1-2-3 Grow With Me workshops. It is now part of a large network of Family Place Libraries™ throughout the country.

Expanding the traditional role of children’s services, Family Place builds on the knowledge that early learning, parental involvement, and supportive communities play a key role in the growth and development of our youngest patrons.

The local library recently redesigned the library’s environment to be more welcoming and appropriate for children beginning at birth, including specialized programs for parent and young children.

Families are invited to drop by the library to visit the new early childhood play area, which will be open and available during regular library hours. Anyone having a child between the ages of 0-3 years old, is invited to register for an upcoming 1-2-3 Grow With Me parent/child workshop. The first workshop will be held May 4 through June 1. A fall workshop will be held in October. This is a signature program of the Family Place initiative and provides a welcoming environment for parent and young children to play and explore while parents are introduced to key resource professional on various topics concerning their child’s overall development.
