Local roundup: Results from April 25

The Marian and Pleasant Valley softball teams, along with Jim Thorpe baseball, all recorded victories on Tuesday.

SOFTBALL

Marian-Lincoln Leadership

Marian only needed four innings to roll to a 19-0 non-league win over Lincoln Leadership.

Morgan Kelly was 4-for-4 with two triples, a single, a double, four runs scored and five RBIs for the Fillies (9-4). Jackie Guth (single, double, four runs scored, RBI) and Danica Karlick (two singles, run scored, RBI) also had multiple hits in the win.

Karlick earned the pitching win, allowing three hits and striking out three.

Lincoln Leadership fell to 2-9.

ES North-Pleasant Valley

Madison Dorshimer scattered six hits and registered a dozen strikeouts to lead Pleasant Valley to a 16-2 rout of East Stroudsburg North in Eastern Pennsylvania Conference play.

Brianna Prindham, Samantha Patti, and Danica Getz all had two hits for the Bears, who improved to 8-8.

Jovie Valenzuela added four RBIs, while Prindham knocked in two runs.

Madison Nadas and Alexa Robinson each had two hits for East Stroudsburg North, which remained winless at 0-14.

Jim Thorpe-No. Lehigh

Jim Thorpe erupted for seven runs in the top of the seventh inning to gain a 14-7 non-league victory at Northern Lehigh.

Garrett Lienhard was 3-for-4 with three RBIs, and Lawrence Baldassano was 3-for-5 with two RBIs for the Olympians (4-11). Rich Strack also had three hits, while Nikolas Schwartz was 2-for-2 with two RBIs.

Brayden Buskirk had two hits for Northern Lehigh (3-12).

BOYS LACROSSE

Northwestern-Central Cath.

Allentown Central Catholic topped Northwestern, 11-10, in a battle of the top teams in District 11 Class 2A.

The Vikings raised their record to 6-4, and are now atop the 2A power rankings. Tate Shoemaker had five goals for Central, which has won back-to-back District 11 2A titles.

Austin Sosnovik scored four goals, and Cade Christopher and Blaine Snyder each tallied three goals for the Tigers, who dropped to 7-4 and had a three-game winning streak snapped.
