The Jim Thorpe Area Sports Hall of Fame will be hosting a family style rafting event on Sunday, June 11.

The event will be held on the Lehigh River with Pocono Whitewater, and will travel from Jim Thorpe to Bowmanstown.

Sign-ups will take place at 9 a.m., 9:30 and 10. The event will be held rain or shine.

Interested participants must be at least four years old.

The cost of $25 includes all rafting equipment and gear, transportation to and from the river, and a BBQ riverside lunch.

Proceeds from the event will be used for the Jim Thorpe Sports Hall of Fame, which includes four scholarships, which are awarded every May to graduating seniors at Jim Thorpe Area High School.

The trip is limited to 360 people and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis..
