A Lehighton man has been charged with delivering methamphetamine in Carbon County.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by the Lehighton Police Department in the case against Trevor Hartranft:
On April 7, a source told police that, Hartranft, 44, and three other people were going to the Allentown area to buy crystal methamphetamine.
Surveillance was set up at several locations.
Hartranft was seen getting into a black Ford Focus, and the vehicle was followed to Kuhnsville then back to Lehighton. At 2:20 p.m., officer Dave Roberts of the Franklin Township Police Department conducted a traffic stop on the off ramp to Exit 74 of the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
Hartranft was taken into custody and transported to the Lehighton Police Department.
During a search of the vehicle, police discovered 92.7 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 12 glassine bags containing heroin, three empty sandwich bags, numerous empty Ziploc bags, and drug paraphernalia.
Hartranft had a black leather wallet containing various phone numbers and what appeared to be a tally sheet.
Hartranft faces charges of criminal use of communication facility; unlawful delivery or manufacture of a controlled substance; unlawful possession of a controlled substance; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Hartranft is in the Carbon County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 cash bail, and scheduled to have a preliminary hearing April 19 before District Judge William J. Kissner of Palmerton.
