State police report on thefts, burglaries

State police at Lehighton reported on several burglaries and identity thefts:

• A a 19-year-old woman is the victim of an identity theft case in which someone withdrew funds from her checking account.

Police said they were called to investigate the matter at 12:57 p.m. March 13 at a residence along Walnut Drive in Towamensing Township.

• Police are investigating a burglary reported at 10:03 a.m. Feb. 27.

It happened at 1071 Dinkey Road, East Penn Township. A 64-year-old Bowmanstown resident told police multiple items were stolen from the premises.

• Police are investigating a theft by deception incident. A 59-year-old Ross Township woman called police at 12:37 p.m. March 19 and said someone gained access to her credit card information and used it to pay themselves through Facebook.

• The theft of a children’s black Mongoose bicycle, with pink handlebars and tires, is being investigated.

Police said a 47-year-old man from White Street in Weissport reported at 1 a.m. March 7 the bicycle was stolen from the area of White and Lime streets.

• Police said they were summoned to investigate the theft of a firearm from the trunk of a man’s car, but the firearm was located in the man’s residence.

Police said the victim, a 79-year-old man, reported to them at 10:20 a.m. March 9 that an unknown actor accessed his trunk and took the weapon. In an updated report, police said it was located in the man’s home.

• Police were summoned to investigate a burglary report in Towamensing Township but police said there were “negative results” in the case.

A 51-year-old woman from Philadelphia reported the door was open at the residence located along Pohopoco Circle in the township, saying it happened between 11 a.m. March 19 and 8:31 p.m. March 31.

• Police are investigating a burglary that was reported to them at 2:37 p.m. April 5.

It happened at a property on Surrey Glen, Penn Forest Township. Police said the victim is ReMax, Effort.

Police said someone gained entry to the vacant house and stole a washing machine and copper pipes.

The estimated loss is $1,000.

• Police were summoned at 1:07 p.m. March 8 to a property on Marshall Lane in Chestnuthill Township to investigate a reported theft incident.

Police said a 51-year-old Palmerton man told them a business entity failed to pay off $15,000 for a trade-in with a bank involved as a lender. But police said the investigation yielded that the bank had been paid.

• Police are investigating a burglary that was reported at 3:25 p.m. March 20 at the Blue Mountain Ski Resort, 1660 Blue Mountain Drive, Lower Towamensing Township.

Police said the resort’s security footage shows someone entered the premise and took items.

• The theft of a dirt bike from a property in Parryville is being investigated. Police said a 25-year-old victim notified the Allentown Police Department that the dirt bike was stolen from her mother’s residence in the 100 block of Harrity Road sometime between Feb. 19 and March 18.
