Entertainment around the area

Deadheads, get out your tie-dye: not one, but two Grateful Dead tribute bands will take the stage at Carbon County venues over the next week or so.

Dead On Live will rock Penn’s Peak, with Splintered Sunlight set to take the stage at Mauch Chunk Opera House. The latter venue will also host tributes to Elvis Presley and Linda Ronstadt.

Blues fans will want to check out Robert Cray and his band at the Peak. Meanwhile, fans of progressive rock will converge in Monroe County as Underoath plays Stroudsburg’s Sherman Theater.

Over in the Lehigh Valley, the State Theatre will host a variety of shows - everything from comedy and musical theater to Irish dance and an Aretha Franklin tribute.
