Schuylkill judge revokes sex offender’s probation

A Schuylkill County judge has revoked the probation of a registered sex offender.

Victor Dennis Cain, 59, of Coudersport, Potter County, was charged by West Penn Township Police Officer Denna V. Krammes with criminal attempt to indecently assault a person less than 13 years of age, and criminal attempt to corrupt a minor on Sept. 18, 2015.

Judge Christopher Hobbs revoked Cain’s probation because of violations and sentenced him to serve 1 to 5 years in state prison on the indecent assault charge, with credit for the 61 days he already served.

Hobbs sentenced Cain to the same time, to be served at the same time, on the corruption charge.

In September 2015 Cain offered a 5-year old girl a lollipop to let him touch her inappropriately and another for not telling anyone, according to police.

Cain also tried to make her watch sexually explicit videos.

In May 2017, he pleaded guilty to attempted indecent assault and attempted corruption of minors.

Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin in October 2017 sentenced Cain to 2½ to 5 years in state prison followed by 5 years on probation. He also ruled him a sexually violent predator, meaning Cain would have to abide by restrictions under Megan’s Law for the rest of his life.
