Oertner to be inducted into LV Basketball Hall of Fame

Northern Lehigh graduate and standout basketball player Aimee Oertner has been named one of this year’s inductees to the Lehigh Valley Basketball Hall of Fame.

Oertner, a 2012 Nolehi grad, will be joined by former players Erika Livermore (Nazareth) and Erin Owens (Southern Lehigh), and coach-contributor Jay Radio.

The four will be honored at the annual Lehigh Valley Senior All-Star Classic on March 26.

Oertner was a two-time All-State selection, earning third-team accolades in 2011 before making the second team in 2012. Aimee was coached by David Oertner, her father.

Additionally, Aimee was the Colonial League MVP (2011-12) and averaged 18.5 points, 14.8 rebounds, 10 blocks and four assists per game as a senior. She holds Northern Lehigh career records including points (1,700), blocks (607), defensive rebounds (838), free-throw attempts (653) and free-throws made (448) and single-game records for blocked shots (18), rebounds (27) and defensive rebounds (22).

Aimee led the Bulldogs to their third league title game appearance in school history, and second and third District 11 championship games.

Aimee also holds the Northern Lehigh school record for shot put.

At the college level, Aimee played for the Army Black Knights of the United States Military Academy in West Point where she was the team captain (2015-16).

Her collegiate honors include All-Patriot League second team (2015-16), Patriot League All-Tournament Team (2016), Patriot League All-Rookie Team (2012-13), Patriot League Rookie of the Week three times,

AAA Athlete of the Week (11/12/12), U.S. Marines Distinguished Athlete Award, and the U.S. Army Reserve National Scholar-Athlete Award.

Aimee currently resides in Puyallup, Washington.
