A New Ringgold man will serve 3 to 6 years in state prison for sexually assaulting a minor.

Kevin Scott Nester, 62, was charged by Frackville State trooper Shawn P. Tray with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a person less than 16 years of age; aggravated indecent assault of a person less than 16; corruption of minors - defendant age 18 or older; and indecent assault of a person less 16 years of age on Aug. 1, 2018.

President Judge Jacqueline L. Russell accepted Nester’s guilty plea to the aggravated indecent assault charge, and sentenced him to the prison time, to begin on Jan. 30. After he’s released, he’ll serve four years on probation.

Nester also was ordered to submit a DNA sample and pay the $250 fee, pay court costs, and pay a $50 fee.

The remaining charges were dropped.

In 2004, Nester, then 42, was sentenced by then Schuylkill County Judge William Baldwin to 12-24 months in state prison for helping Stephen W. Mitchell, then 42, of Orwigsburg, abduct and torture a 22-year-old man from Schuylkill Haven on Aug. 11, 2002. The two stripped the man, beat him with a bat, burned him with cigarettes, and fired a gun near his ear.
