January 20, 2011 - Tamaqua sweeps Panther Valley in Schuylkill League swimming action during the Blue Raiders’ Senior Appreciation Day. The Tamaqua girls roll to a 118-56 victory to remain undefeated in league action. Senior Schuyler Schmidt touches first in the 100 freestyle, while classmate Alaina Reese takes the diving event. Other wins come from Megan Wagner (100 back), Caroline Kanaskie (200 free), Joann Butkus (100 fly) and Miranda Amey (500 free). The Raider boys cruised to a 108-21 triumph behind a pair of firsts from senior Dane DeWire (diving, 100 free). Teammate Jordan Frank (100 fly, 100 breast) also wins two events, while senior Sam Tuckett (200 IM) and Jake Kropp (100 back) capture one each.
