JT grad Searfoss earns more accolades at Holy Family University

Jim Thorpe graduate Skyler Searfoss recently won her third Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week award for her performances in two Holy Family University victories that extended the Tigers’ win streak to eight games.

That is now four weekly league honors this season for the freshman, who in addition to previously being named Rookie of the Week on Nov. 28 and Dec. 20, was also selected as the CACC Defensive Player of the Week on Jan. 9.

Searfoss averaged 11.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists, while turning it over just once in 65 minutes, against Saint Anselm and Post. She shot 6-of-12 from the floor and made all 10 of her free throw attempts.

The freshman first led all players with five assists, adding 12 points on 4-of-6 field goals, in the non-conference finale versus the Hawks.

Searfoss then recorded her first career double-double with 10 points (6-of-6 foul shots), and game-highs of a season-best 11 rebounds and three steals in a victory over the Eagles.

Currently, Searfoss is averaging a team-best 12.9 points per game, having started all 19 games played this season, connecting on 82 of her 163 (.503) field goal attempts for Holy Family (13-6, 8-1).

She also leads the team with 65 assists, 41 steals and ranks fourth with 4.7 rebounds per game. She also converted 74 of her 90 free throws.
