Entertainment around the area

Music fans seeking a blend of electronic and jam-band sounds will have not one, but two chances to see a pioneer of the “trance-fusion” genre perform Penn’s Peak.

The Disco Biscuits will play two shows at the Peak, which will also host tributes to the Rolling Stones and Grateful Dead over the next couple of weeks. Meanwhile, Mauch Chunk Opera House will host blues act Popa Chubby, along with tributes to Chris Cornell, The Smiths, The Cure and Pink Floyd.

Over in the Lehigh Valley, two Elvis Presley tribute acts will perform at Bethlehem’s Wind Creek Event Center. The latter venue will also host a Journey tribute act, featuring a dead ringer for former Journey frontman Steve Perry. Also in Bethlehem, acts such as Neko Case and Patty Griffin will play the Musikfest Café.

Meanwhile, the Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg will host Beerfest and the inaugural Sherman-Con. The latter will spotlight video games, board games, and anime and comic artists, among other attractions.
